Mother-of-pearl lacquerware, often referred to as "jagae" or “najeon chilgi”, is a centuries-old, traditional Korean craft using the shells of abalones, mollusks, and clams. Considered one of Korea’s most distinctive and refined traditional crafts, jagae carries within it historical and cultural significance, representing a crucial part of Korea's national heritage.
